Equinor ASA, established on September 18, 1972, is a public limited liability company incorporated under the laws of Norway and operates under the Norwegian Public Limited Liability Company Act. Equinor is a leading international energy company engaged in the exploration, production, transportation and marketing of oil, natural gas and renewable energy. The company operates on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) and worldwide, and is subject to the regulatory framework governing the corporate income tax system and production sharing agreements (PSA) in its oil activities. Equinor sells natural gas from NCS on behalf of itself and the Norwegian government, primarily through the Norwegian Gas Transportation System (Gassled), which delivers natural gas to customers in the UK, Continental Europe and other global destinations through pipelines and liquefied natural gas (LNG) ships.
