Polestar Automotive Holding UK PLC is a Swedish manufacturer of high-end electric vehicles, incorporated on September 15, 2021. Headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, the company's vehicles are currently on sale and on-the-road in markets in Europe, North America, China and Asia Pacific. The company's cars are currently produced at two plants in China, with more production planned in the United States in the future. The company has produced two electric performance cars. Built between 2019 and 2021, the Polestar 1 is a low-capacity electric performance hybrid GT with a carbon fiber body of 609 horsepower, 1,000 Nm and 124 km of pure electric cruising range — the longest time of any hybrid vehicle in the world. The Polestar 2 electric performance fast back is the company's first fully electric high-capacity car. The Polestar 2 model series includes three variants that combine long and standard battery life of up to 78 kWh, and dual-motor and single-motor power systems of up to 300 kW/408 hp and 660 Nm. Beginning in 2022, the company plans to launch a new electric vehicle every year, starting with the Polestar 3 — the company's first electric performance SUV is expected to debut in October 2022. The Polestar 4 is expected to launch in 2023, a smaller electric performance SUV coupe.
