Globalstar, Inc., was formed in November 2003 as a Delaware limited liability company and then on March 17, 2006. Converted to a Delaware corporation. Globalstar is a leading company providing mobile voice and data communication services via satellite. Globalstar's first-generation network, originally owned by Globalstar, L.P, was designed, built and launched in the late 1990s by a technical collaboration team led by Loral Space and Communications and Qualcomm. On February 15, 2002, Old Globalstar and its next three subsidiaries voluntarily filed petitions under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. In 2004, Thermo Capital Partners LLC became the majority owner of Globalstar, and Globalstar completed the acquisition of all businesses and assets of Old Globalstar.
