First Capital, Inc., was incorporated under the laws of the State of Indiana on September 11, 1998. On December 31, 1998, the company became the holding company of First Commonwealth Bank. First Federal Bank is a federal savings bank. After First Capital Corporation and M.H.C were converted from a federal joint holding bank to a company limited by shares, the bank reorganization made First Federal Bank a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company Except for all the issued shares of the bank and a portion of the net income retained by the company, the company does not have huge assets and liabilities. Over the past few years, banks have continuously changed the composition of their balance sheets, from traditional savings institutions to commercial banks. On the asset side, the Company sells newly created, qualified fixed-rate residential mortgages in the secondary market while retaining variable-rate residential mortgages in the portfolio. The gradually expanding commercial lending staff is committed to the growing commercial real estate lending and commercial lending, which also accelerates the transformation of the bank. The bank also continued to engage in a loan portfolio of consumer loans and housing construction loans. Banks do not and have never offered Alt-A, subprime or undocumented mortgage loans.
