World Liberty Financial Proposes USD1 Stablecoin Airdrop To Token Holders

World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a decentralized finance (DeFi) venture with partial ownership by former US President Donald Trump, has announced a proposal to distribute its upcoming stablecoin, USD1, to existing WLFI token holders. This initiative is designed to test the airdrop infrastructure in a live environment and to express gratitude to the project’s early supporters.

The airdrop aims to achieve three primary goals. Firstly, it will validate the technical readiness of the airdrop system in a real-world setting. Secondly, it will introduce the USD1 stablecoin to the community ahead of its public launch. Lastly, it will reward early adopters for their support and involvement in the project.

All current WLFI token holders will be eligible to receive a set amount of USD1. However, the exact amount each wallet will receive will be determined based on the number of qualified participants and the available resources. The proposal has garnered strong support within the WLFI community, but the company has reserved the right to cancel or suspend the airdrop at any point, even after approval.

USD1 is designed to be a fully collateralized stablecoin, maintaining a 1:1 peg with the US Dollar. It will be backed by short-term US Treasuries, fiat currency reserves, and other liquid cash equivalents. The initial launch will take place on Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain, with plans to expand to additional blockchain networks in the future.

Despite the growing community support for the proposal, WLFI and USD1 have faced political scrutiny. Democratic lawmakers, led by Senator Elizabeth Warren, have expressed concerns over potential conflicts of interest due to the Trump family’s involvement. Agencies such as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Federal Reserve have been asked to review whether this connection could impact regulatory oversight. WLFI has not directly responded to these inquiries.
