Prosus leads $2.5M pre-seed funding round in CodeKarma
Prosus, a global investor with a strong presence in technology, has led a $2.5 million pre-seed funding round in CodeKarma, an enterprise tech startup focused on software productivity. The round also saw participation from Accel, Xeed Ventures, SenseAI Ventures, and Stargazer Ventures [1].Founded in 2024 by former Amazon and Flipkart executive Anantharam Vanchi Prakash, CodeKarma offers a software productivity platform that helps developers and AI systems proactively identify hidden risks, eliminate unused code, and ship software faster. The company's proprietary technology creates a closed-loop feedback system that continuously improves code quality, performance, and maintainability [1].
The fresh capital will be deployed to automate and improve CodeKarma's software systems, bolster AI-driven capabilities, expand into new enterprise verticals, and strengthen the company's global footprint, particularly in the US market. The funds will also be used to hire more talent and drive continuous product innovation [1].
"CodeKarma gives insights to people across various positions in an organization, at the level of abstraction that they need," said Prakash. "It helps the developer but also helps engineering managers, product managers, architects, and the CTO to make their vision a reality" [1].
CodeKarma's long-term goal is to build an autonomous software intelligence platform. The company is currently developing autonomous agents that can not only identify issues but also act to fix them. "We're starting from autonomous maintenance and can make progress further where we get these insights, we have the code, we fix them, we deploy them, and then this will get better," Prakash added [1].
The funding comes at a time when enterprise tech startups are gaining traction, driven by the increasing adoption of artificial intelligence. Companies like Enlite, Drizz, GobbleCube, and Runo have also secured substantial capital in recent months [1].
The growing Indian SaaS market, projected to become a $70 billion opportunity by 2030, is fueling investor interest in these AI-driven startups [1].
