Data shows AMD's (AMD.US) market share as a data center infrastructure provider has grown from single digits to around 30% in just a few years. Its data center segment revenue grew 115% year-on-year to a record $2.8 billion in the second quarter, accounting for over 50% of total revenue, according to its earnings report released in late July. AMD also announced last month that it would acquire ZT Systems, which would further enhance its ability to provide infrastructure for supercomputers and artificial intelligence.
