Dogecoin Partners with IndyCar for 2025 Indianapolis 500
House of Doge, in collaboration with the Dogecoin Foundation, indycar driver Devlin DeFrancesco, and Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, has launched an innovative platform for the Indianapolis 500. This partnership aims to bring Dogecoin to the iconic motorsports event while supporting a cause close to the team's heart. The Indianapolis 500, known as "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing," will take place on Memorial Day weekend, May 25, drawing over 350,000 spectators in person and reaching a global audience in over 140 countries. This year, the event will feature a historic partnership with the Dogecoin race car, allowing fans to vote on DeFrancesco’s Indy 500 car design, which will feature the iconic Dogecoin Shiba Inu.
DeFrancesco, who was born prematurely and spent four months in the Neo-Natal ICU, has used his platform as a professional race car driver to give back to critically ill children. As part of this partnership, DeFrancesco will personally donate $25,000 in Dogecoin to the Riley Children’s Foundation in Indianapolis, which is aligned with Riley Children’s Health, a leading pediatric care center. This initiative also marks a historic moment in motorsport, as DeFrancesco has committed to receiving $100,000 of his salary in Dogecoin, a bold step forward for crypto adoption in professional sports.
DeFrancesco, a dog lover and Dogecoin fan, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that he first invested in Dogecoin in 2020 and has been an advocate for its potential as a global currency. He expressed his excitement about being part of the community and an ambassador for its vision. To celebrate the making of Dogecoin history, House of Doge, the Dogecoin Foundation, and Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing are launching a fan-powered contest. Fans can vote on their favorite design for DeFrancesco’s race car wrap and helmet, with voting open from March 19 to March 25. The three potential designs for the No. 30 Dogecoin honda include "Blaze," "Turbowave," and "BananaBoost," each with its unique theme and characteristics.
In addition to voting, fans can contribute to the Riley Children’s Foundation in Dogecoin for a chance to win the ultimate collector’s prize. The largest Dogecoin donor leading up to race day will receive an exclusive, one-of-a-kind Indy 500 racing helmet, worn and signed by DeFrancesco during his Indy 500 qualifying run. The Dogecoin-powered fundraising campaign will directly benefit the Riley Children’s Foundation, supporting life-saving medical care for newborns, including those born prematurely or with critical conditions requiring immediate and specialized treatment. House of Doge encourages the Dogecoin community to support this cause leading up to the Indy 500 on May 25. Fans can vote and donate at dogecoin.com/indycar.
The House of Doge team believes in the future of digital money and aims to make Dogecoin a widely accepted decentralized currency for everyday use worldwide. They focus on aggregating Dogecoin liquidity through robust operations in the U.S., creating a strategic reserve to support its seamless use in commerce and government transactions. The Dogecoin Foundation, a nonprofit organization, is committed to developing open-source technology that enhances Dogecoin’s accessibility and utility as a peer-to-peer digital currency. Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, co-owned by three-time IndyCar Champion Bobby Rahal, former CBS Late Show host David Letterman, and mi-jack co-owner Mike Lanigan, will compete in its 34th year of competition in 2025, aiming to add to its impressive record of wins, poles, and championships.
