BlackRock-Backed Minute Media Acquires Indian AI Startup VideoVerse

Minute Media, backed by BlackRock and Goldman Sachs, has acquired Indian AI startup VideoVerse for a reported valuation of $200-250 million. VideoVerse extracts sports highlights and creates content from footage for clients such as the Indian Premier League and FIFA+. The acquisition is Minute Media's largest in terms of value and company size.

New York, NY – September 9, 2025 – Minute Media, a leading global technology and sports content company backed by BlackRock and Goldman Sachs, has announced the acquisition of VideoVerse, an Indian AI startup specializing in extracting sports highlights and creating content from footage. The deal is valued at $200-250 million, making it the largest acquisition for Minute Media in terms of both value and company size .

VideoVerse, founded in 2016 by Vinayak Shrivastav, has developed award-winning technology that enables content owners and rights holders to automatically detect key moments, create highlights in real-time, and distribute short-form video content efficiently. The company's clients include the Indian Premier League, FIFA+, and broadcasters Nippon TV and Cubber TV. VideoVerse operates as a SaaS tool, charging based on the number of hours of footage processed, and has achieved $65 million in revenue with a healthy EBIDTA margin of 35% to 40% .

The acquisition will significantly enhance Minute Media's capabilities in the sports content ecosystem. Minute Media plans to integrate VideoVerse's AI-driven technologies into its existing portfolio, offering a full-stack solution from creation to distribution to monetization. This will allow existing Magnifi clients to leverage Minute Media's industry-leading distribution and monetization solutions, potentially increasing their return on investment (ROI) for video assets .
