Aptos Foundation Launches $2 Million Grant Program, Opens Hong Kong Hub

Aptos Movemaker, the official community organization of the Aptos Foundation dedicated to advancing the Aptos ecosystem in Chinese-speaking regions, has announced the launch of a $2 million grant program and the opening of Aptos Space, a state-of-the-art collaboration hub in Hong Kong. These initiatives are aimed at strengthening the Aptos blockchain ecosystem and driving Web 3.0 innovation globally.

Backed by multimillion-dollar funding and resources from the Aptos Foundation, Movemaker is committed to empowering developers, supporting innovative projects, and fostering a thriving blockchain community. He highlighted that physical environments like Aptos Space in Hong Kong are game-changers for developers, providing a hub where they can collaborate, learn from peers, and access mentorship.

The Movemaker grant program will offer financial, strategic, and technical support to projects building on the Aptos blockchain, with a focus on areas such as DeFi, AI, payment solutions, stablecoins, and real-world assets (RWAs). In the first phase of the rollout, Movemaker has allocated $2 million in grants. The grants will support promising projects by providing funding to accelerate development and project growth, strategic and technical guidance for builders on the Aptos blockchain, and talent and branding support to enhance project visibility and adoption. The program aims to support developers and projects from the Chinese-speaking region while also welcoming global teams interested in this market.

In addition to the grant program, Movemaker is opening Aptos Space, a brand-new physical venue in the heart of Hong Kong. Grantees will have the opportunity to co-work and collaborate from this space, which will also host regular meetups and developer events to attract local and global Web 3.0 talent. Looking ahead to 2025, Movemaker has several key initiatives planned. These include an ambassador program to build a network of champions who share Movemaker’s vision for Web 3.0, hosting at least two large-scale builder events to unite local Chinese-speaking and global Web 3.0 talent, partnering with government bodies, media, and community leaders to amplify Aptos’ impact, and regular online events and AMAs to keep the Aptos community informed and inspired.
