Amouranth's Home Invasion Highlights Cryptocurrency Crime Wave

Four suspects have been charged in connection with the home invasion of online streamer Amouranth, whose real name is Kaitlyn Siragusa. The incident occurred on March 2, 2025, when several armed individuals entered Siragusa's home late at night, beat her, and held her at gunpoint, demanding her cryptocurrency. The suspects include Dylan Nesho Campbell, Bryan Anthony Salazar Guerrero, Demarcus Morris Jr., and an unnamed 16-year-old. Campbell and Guerrero, along with the 17-year-old suspect, were each charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

Siragusa's husband, Nick Lee, was on speakerphone with her during the incident and was alerted to the situation. He grabbed a handgun and attempted to gauge the location of the armed men within the home. Siragusa led the assailants around the house, convincing them to search for a cold storage device. Meanwhile, she ran upstairs to her husband, who was monitoring the situation through the home's network of cameras. Once Siragusa was safely upstairs, Lee fired three rounds at the assailants, likely injuring one, before the home invaders retreated and law enforcement arrived at the scene.

Siragusa had previously disclosed that she held roughly 211 Bitcoin, worth over $20 million in November 2024, making her a target for armed robbery. The incident is part of a broader trend of kidnappings and armed robberies aimed at cryptocurrency holders. In January 2025, a UK court sentenced seven gang members for the kidnapping and extortion of a crypto investor, who was repeatedly assaulted and coerced into handing over funds over several months. During the same month, reports emerged that Ledger co-founder David Balland was kidnapped in France and held for a crypto ransom before being rescued by law enforcement.

This incident highlights the growing risks faced by high-profile content creators and the importance of robust security measures to protect against such threats. The cases against Amouranth's attackers are ongoing, and it remains to be seen how they will be resolved. The home invasion of Amouranth underscores the need for increased vigilance and security for individuals who hold significant amounts of cryptocurrency, as well as for content creators who may be targeted due to their public profiles.
